2026 Season Update: Private Boat Training in Orlando & Kissimmee

Get Water-Ready: Kicking Off the 2026 Boating Season!

Welcome to 2026! As the weather warms up and the days get longer, it’s time to start thinking about getting back on the water. At the Central Florida Boating Association (CFBA), we are gearing up for our biggest training season yet.

Whether you are a brand new boat owner or a seasoned captain looking to sharpen your docking skills, this year is all about flexibility and personalized instruction.

We Come to You (Training on Your Boat)

One of our most popular requests for 2026 is private instruction on your own vessel. There is no better way to learn than on the specific boat you will be using every weekend.

  • Customized for Your Setup: Learn exactly how your throttle, steering, and electronics respond.

  • Docking at Your Home: We teach you how to dock safely in your specific slip or lift, dealing with the actual wind and current conditions you face at home.

  • Confidence Building: Eliminate the stress of taking your new boat out for the first time.

Training on Our Fleet: Exploring Orlando’s Best Lakes

Don't have a boat yet? No problem. You can learn on our fleet of safe, USCG-equipped powerboats. This season, we are expanding our training locations to serve you better. We can meet for lessons at some of Central Florida’s most beautiful waterways, including:

  • Lake Conway (Belle Isle): Perfect for learning navigation in crystal clear water.

  • Lake Fairview (Orlando): A classic spot for sailing and powerboat handling.

  • East Lake Toho (St. Cloud): Ideal for mastering open-water maneuvering.

  • The Butler Chain (Windermere): Learn to navigate canals and tight spaces.

What Will You Learn?

Our curriculum is led by USCG-Licensed Captains and covers the essentials you need to keep your family safe:

  • Docking Mastery: The #1 stressor for boaters! We make it easy.

  • Rules of the Road: Understanding navigation markers and right-of-way.

  • Emergency Preparedness: Man-overboard drills and radio usage.

  • Trailer Launching: How to look like a pro at the boat ramp.
